How To Decorate The Bathroom With Inspiration From The Great Outdoors

When you are making over your bathroom you can build a beautiful space by using the great outdoors as inspiration. By keeping the space natural, you can mix all of the functions of the room into a single seamless design. You can produce any type of aesthetic that you want by incorporating elements of nature in the area. There is a plethora of ways to pull nature into the space, and here are a few ideas to try.

Seashore
Everyone loves the beach, or at least they love the idea of the beach. To produce a beach side ambience in your bath, you can start by painting your walls a light, neutral color. The color can have a brown, grey or even blue undertone; all will work with this theme. You might think about adding handmade metal wall art or a wallpaper border to the room, or even stenciling a border around the space using a seagull or seashell pattern.

You may also have enough detail that you are including in your accessories that dictates blank walls for your space. You can blend your towel rack with your walls, or you can add some character with a pattern of seashells. You can hang striped towels to remind you of cabanas and beach towels. Adding a canvas or wicker basket with extra rolled towels will carry on the cabana aesthetic. You can bring in metal art sculpture in greens and blues, and you can use crisp white to trim the room. Add seashell framed mirrors and clear glass containers full of colorful seashells to complete the look of your seaside bathroom.

Hunting Lodge Atmosphere
While a lodge look is not actually bringing the outside in, it adds a certain rustic aesthetic to your bathroom space. This theme is perfect for a man’s bathroom, and looks great in darker colors like forest green. While you don’t want to paint all of the walls in a dark color, you can select a focal wall to paint in a hue of deep forest green. You might add a chair rail to the space and just paint the lower half of the wall in the forest green color. You may also prefer a neutral background for your lodge bathroom, and then you can use your bold color in the furnishings like the shower curtain, bathmat and towels. Add rustic wood accents and wooden pegs to use for towel holders. Then bring in some wildlife inspired art work and even a basket of pinecones, and your rustic country lodge bath is finished.

Garden
For a more romantic touch to the bath, you can select a garden-inspired motif. Whether that simply translates into floral patterns or creating the actual visual of a garden is your choice. You can go for neutral colors for the wall either in shades of tan, or you may prefer pastel neutrals with a hint of green, pink, or yellow. After deciding on your wall color, you can enhance the undertone of your paint color with your accessories. You may choose a burst of florals with a floral shower curtain, or you may just prefer to continue with a pastel motif to create a more organic feel in the room, like a spa. Then you can bring in a large vase of newly cut flowers to your room. You can finish off this room with crisp, white trim and some polished contemporary metal wall art, and your garden bath is ready to pamper.
